Extended Hours at Magic Kingdom

If you are a night owl instead of a Rope drop kind of disney fan, then extended hours at Magic Kingdom are made for you!

What are Extended Hours?

Extended hours are just for guests of Disney DELUXE RESORTS. These include all Disney Vacation Club Resorts. For TWO HOURS after normal park closing, select attractions stay open.  It’s a fantastic time for short wait times. For park times and days with extended hours, check with the park calendar.  Generally nights for Magic Kingdom extra hours are Mondays, but we noticed that they are missing during weeks with Halloween parties.

What attractions are open?

We notice that most attractions are open during these late hours, so bonus!

What about Tron?

At 6:00 PM on nights with Extended Evening Theme Park Hours at Magic Kingdom park, you can  join the virtual queue for TRON.  This means you could technically ride Tron twice (if you were able to score a time for the virtual queue at 7 am also!) Riding Tron at night is a leveled up experience!

Disney point Gal tip

Because We fly from the Western United States, We try to not change time zones for kids.  That way, we can hit extended hours instead of rope drop.  We find that lines are even shorter than early entry. Can’t go wrong with any rides, but if you have children, fantasyland is a ghost town during late night hours.

What about Transportation?

Transportation will be available during and after extended hours, so you can get back to your deluxe resort at any time.

Extended Hours are also at Epcot and Hollywood Studios (for select dates)
