Aloha! If you are used to picking a room at a Walt Disney World or Disneyland resort, and you are planning a trip to Aulani in Hawaii, you need to know there are more room options. Here are the Aulani room categories so you can get the room you want!
Aulani View Options
Disney Aulani Resort and Spa is located on the island of Oahu and is our most popular place we rent DVC points. When renting (or even booking a room direct from Disney) you are asked what room type you want and which view. Today I will cover what different view types are compared the the DVC point chart. Our guide here covers the different room types (Hotel, Studio, 1,2,3 bedrooms) and what the rooms include/layout.

S- Standard
I- Island/Garden View
P- Pool View
O- Ocean View
How to use Capital One miles while staying at Aulani
Standard
This is the most basic view type of the options. It is a view of the parking garage or the roof of the convention center This room is by far the cheapest, but if having a view of lush garden or the ocean is important to you, I would pay a little extra to stay at one of the other options. I usually suggest this room for people who don’t sit on their balcony or tend to be go-go on vacation.
Island/ Garden View
View either the island of Oahu or the garden where the Luau is held. If you want a chance of a view of the Luau, make sure to request a room in the Ewa tower.
Poolside
Poolside are located on the lower levels (levels 1 and 2). These rooms are convenient to the pool area and make it easier since they don’t required elevator rides to your room. Some are on the same level as the pool and have sliding glass doors. These rooms are harder to find during most times of year.
Ocean View
This room category has well… a view of the ocean! It can be full or partial view. These are the most expensive villas in any category at Aulani.
Which one do we usually pick?
We love the island view category as it’s not a huge jump in price, but you get a much better view. It also seem more available than the other Aulani Room Categories.
