If you are planning a trip to Disneyland or Walt Disney World around the holidays (Halloween or Christmas/Hanukkah), there are special ticketed events that you pay extra for a special event. You can even use your credit card points and miles to get them for free!
What is a special ticketed event?
Disney holds special nighttime parties during the halloween and holiday seasons. These events are not included in your regular park ticket. The parks close during these events and you must have a special ticket in order to attend during these hours.
What’s included in a ticket?
It depends on the event, but most have access to rides and attractions with lower wait times, snacks and special entertainment like parades, firework shows, and live music. Halloween parties include trick or treat candy (and LOTS of it!), while Christmas parties include lots of holiday cookies. Dressing up in costume for Halloween and in holiday fun attire for Christmas is not required, but most go all out so it makes it even more festive!
Which parks have them? When are they?
Disneyland/DCA
Disney California Adventure Park has Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween party on select nights in the fall (2024 it starts in August, so I guess fall is a stretch!), This party sells out in minutes and can only be purchased through Disney. No Christmas/Holiday party is offered(Bah-humbug!).

Walt Disney World Parks
Magic Kingdom
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party starts in August (so if you plan to attend in warmer months make sure your costume is warm weather friendly- let’s be real, hot weather friendly) and runs through October. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party starts in November and extends throughout the holiday season in December.
Hollywood Studios
Returning this year is Disney Jollywood Nights. Last year it seemed more geared to adults, dressing up and enjoying the holiday atmosphere of old Hollywood. It runs around the same time as Magic Kingdom’s party, just on opposite nights.

When can you purchase tickets?
2024 ticket dates
Oogie Boogie Bash- June 27th, 8:45 PST
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party- May 15th
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights- July 10th (with Disney Resort Guests getting early access on July 2nd)
