Why This Perk is a Big Deal
1. FREE, FREE, FREE: Water park tickets can be a significant additional expense. With this new perk, Disney Resort guests can enjoy these world-class water parks without the extra cost.
2. More Fun: Disney water parks offer a unique blend of thrilling water slides, relaxing lazy rivers, and themed environments that provide fun for the entire family.
Two Water Parks to choose from (make sure to check for closures especially during winter months)
Disney’s Blizzard Beach
Blizzard Beach is a one-of-a-kind water park themed around a ski resort that has melted into a watery wonderland. Highlights include:
– Summit Plummet: One of the tallest and fastest free-fall body slides in the world.
– Teamboat Springs: A family-friendly raft ride that twists and turns down the mountain.
– Tike’s Peak: A play area designed for younger children, featuring miniature slides and shallow pools.
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon
Typhoon Lagoon offers a tropical paradise with a backstory of a storm-ravaged island. Highlights include:
-Crush ‘n’ Gusher: A thrilling water coaster that propels you through hairpin turns and sudden drops.
-Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool: One of the largest wave pools in the world, perfect for body surfing or just bobbing in the waves.
– Castaway Creek: A serene lazy river that winds its way around the entire park. Who doesn’t need this after traveling to Florida?
How to Take Advantage of the Perk
Eligibility
This complimentary water park access is available to guests staying at any Disney Resort hotel from starting January 2025 for check in day only. To qualify, you must have a valid Disney hotel reservation, sorry no good neighbor hotel benefit or Swan, Dolphin or Reserve hotels are eligible.
We recommend if flying in to stay at the Hyatt Regency at MCO so you can get a early start to the water park!
Accessing the Parks
1. Check-In: Ensure you’re checked into your Disney Resort hotel. You’ll need to show proof of your stay to access the water parks. You can leave any luggage with bell services at the resort in the morning, so don’t worry about what to do with your bags at the water parks. We would pack a bag separate to take for the day.
2.Park Reservations: Unlike theme park reservations, water park access does not require advance reservations. Simply show your MagicBand or room key at the entrance for entry.
3.Transportation: Complimentary transportation to the water parks is available from Disney Resort hotels. Check the transportation schedule at your hotel for the most convenient options. You can check when the next bus is coming under “my resort” on you my disney experience app, and then “bus times”.
Tips for Maximizing Your Water Park Experience
1. Arrive Early: arriving early ensures you can secure prime spots for lounging and get ahead of any lines for popular attractions. This is helpful for spring break and summer travel.
2. Stay Warm or be cool: Florida winters are mild, but mornings and evenings can be cooler. On the other hand, summers are very hot, so make sure to seek out shade as much as possible.
3. Hydrate and Sunscreen: Drink plenty of water and apply sunscreen regularly to stay protected.
4. Plan Your Day: Make a rough plan of which attractions you want to hit first. Use the downtime to relax in the lazy river or grab a bite at one of the many dining options. A water park is a great way to get over jet lag and be ready for fun in the parks!
Food Options
Both parks have quick service food options and some quick service have mobile ordering for convenience.
Don’t miss out on this limited-time benefit. Pack your swimsuits, dive into the magic, and make a splash on your next Disney vacation!
