5 times to Book 11 months Out at Aulani
Wanting to spend some island time with Moana next year and rent Disney Vacation Club? Even though Aulani is a big resort, there are some busy times at Aulani, so plan ahead to have a chance of availability for renting.
Why 11 months?
Disney Vacation Club owners buy their DVC points for a specific Home resort. They are thirteen DVC resorts at Walt Disney World, two at Disneyland, and three Beach resorts including Aulani. Owners at a resort can make reservations for their Home resort 11 months out from check in date. Disney Vacation Club owners have to wait until 7 months out and hope for availability for other resorts. This gives home resort advantage to owners at a resort.
Helpful terms to know for Disney Vacation Club
When you are trying to rent for busier times, make sure to rent early and from an Aulani Disney Vacation Owner. There are the times during the year we feel like that planning on reserving your vacation at 11 months is absolutely necessary.
January
If you are wanting to visit the first week or Martin Luther King Holiday weekend in January, plan on making your reservation for DVC in February (11 months before).
February
Most of the month you are good, but President’s weekend is one that fills up fast. Which means booking the middle of March the year before.
March
With various spring breaks across the country, you will absolutely need to rent at 11 months out for the entire month of March.
April
Easter week especially can be very busy, but this month also includes spring break vacationers.
June, July, August
We have the most amount requests to rent during the summer months with children out of school. It’s near to impossible to get consecutive nights available unless you book very early.
November
Thanksgiving week as you can imagine books up very fast- this one you might need to pin down a renter even before 11 months to your desired check in date. You will need to rent December of the year before to get a villa for Thanksgiving.
December
Early december is pretty quiet at the resort, but as the holiday’s season approaches it gets busier and busier. Christmas week and the week in between Christmas and New Year’s is some of the busiest at the resort all year. We recommend finding an Aulani owner that can make your reservation for you, even starting earlier than 11 months out for extra days and modifying your reservation to acheive the dates you want (this is called “Walking in a reservation”).
