DVC Renovations 2025 and 2026: Disney Vacation Club Resort Updates You Need to Know

If you’re a Disney Vacation Club owner or renting points for your next adventure, nothing beats that first “Welcome Home” moment. And the best news is that Disney is busy adding even more magic with fresh renovations across resorts in 2025 and 2026. Think of it like a glow up for your vacation, with shiny new villas, refreshed pools, and updated spaces to explore. Sure, sometimes updates mean a pool might be closed for a little while, but that just means something even better is on the way.

Pro tip: check the resort refurbishment schedule before you book so you can be one of the first to enjoy the upgrades and skip any surprises. We just stayed in a brand new studio at Bay Lake during the renovation and it was glorious!

We’ve stayed at plenty of resorts that are under construction.  Is the pool closed in January when it’s 60 degrees out and you weren’t planing on using the pool?  Are they painting outside so it doesn’t affect your trip at all? Then don’t worry about it.  But if you were planning a trip to Beach Club this last year and the main pool is the reason you are staying there?  Then maybe make a plan B!

What We know for sure (and one that we have heard but isn’t confirmed by Disney)

***Aulani is reporting online that their pool is closed in April, but I haven’t seen any official word from DVC.  If it were me, I’m not taking a chance that the main pool is closed during that busy time.

 The Big Change

This biggest renovation happening right now is at Animal Kingdom Lodge (Kidani).  New rooms which will be brighter (I get it, we own there and it is a little dark) and the popular murphy beds (let’s all jump for joy over that!).  The lobby at Kidani will also get a glow up to reflex the new theming.  All work at Kidani should be finished by May, but new rooms should start popping up late winter and early spring.

Right after Kidani is finished, Disney will start with the DVC rooms at Jambo.  No end date is set for that project, but I would fully expect all rooms there to be fresh and new by early 2027.

Will these rooms getting new murphy beds, that means that the only DVC resorts with the dreaded sofa beds will be Old Key West and Aulani.  I was literally up in the middle of the night trying to figure out how Old Key West could adapt for a murphy bed in the larger units, but I’m not sure that’s an easy fix, so they might be stuck with sofa beds for a while.

These upcoming renovations are all about keeping the magic fresh and giving both owners and renters even more to love about their Disney stays. Imagine stepping into a villa that feels brand new, splashing into a sparkling pool, or relaxing in a lobby that are even more comfortable than before. The updates planned for 2025 and 2026 mean your next “Welcome Home” could feel extra special. So whether you are a longtime Member or just discovering the magic through renting points, get ready for brighter resorts, refreshed experiences, and plenty of magic waiting around every corner.
