How to get $830 dollars of Disney tickets each year for nearly free
Disney tickets are one of the most expensive parts of any Disney parks trip! One of our strategies to help minimize the costs is to use capital one venture miles to cover the cost of tickets. However, one of the drawbacks has been that capital one was vague about how often you could earn the bonus.Many saying you could only get a credit card bonus once every 7 years on each card or once in a lifetime.
Good news though! Capital one just updated their terms so you can earn the sign up bonus on both their venture and venture x cards every 48 months. Why is this good news? This allows you to earn a bonus on your card every year if you and your player 2 (spouse, significant other, etc) take turns opening the venture cards! Lets show an example:
Example
Person 1- Opens a venture card in August 2023 and earns 75,000 points by spending 4,000 dollars in 3 months. They also are earning points from spending the 4,000 dollars. So they have earned 83,000 venture miles which equals $830 dollars.
Person 2- Opens a venture card in August 2024. They use person 1st personal referral link. This gives person 1 another 25,000 points or 250 dollars. They do the same spending and earn 83,000 points or $830 dollars.
Person 1- Opens venture x card August 2025- They meet the minimum spend and earn $830 dollars plus have $300 in travel credits.
Person 2- Opens venture x card in Jan 2026- They meet the minimum spend and earn 83,000 points plus person 1 earns 25,000 points for referral them.
See how it has been 4 years since person 1 opened the venture card? They will then downgrade their venture card to a no annual fee card and reopen it to earn the sign up bonus again. This allows you to earn 830-1,080 in tickets each year.
You can also combine these points easy by just calling the number on the back your card. So person 2 could move their points to person 1 account to use for a trip.
