How to Combine Hyatt Points
The Hyatt loyalty program is great because unlike other hotel loyalty programs, you can transfer points from one member to another (and it’s free!). Here is how and why we transfer World of Hyatt points.

How to combine points from Two World of Hyatt accounts
You can combine your World of Hyatt points with any other member. You don’t need to be in the same household, or be family. The only restriction is that you can only transfer (either out or in of your account) once every 30 days.
To combine points, you just fill out a PDF form. The only information you need is personal info like address, phone number, and your World of Hyatt number. Learn from our mistakes and double check this information (this is how they match accounts, so if they don’t exactly match, it won’t happen). Also, can we just say it’s the 21st century and this could easily be done with a online form and a click of a button, but here we are…

Each member fills in their information, and you specify how many points you want transferred, and signing giving Hyatt authorization to deduct a specific number of points. Both members will then need to sign the form. Then take a picture or scan and email it to combinepoints@hyatt.com. Again, a little sigh that it would be SO much easier if we could just do this online.
It took a couple of days for the points to drop into our account after sending the email to Hyatt. On our first transfer, we wrote a number down incorrectly and it was over a week to get it figured out.

When should you combine World of Hyatt points?
Combining points is a great idea in quite a few situations. Here are the main reasons you might want to consider combining points for your next vacation:
- You have two World of Hyatt accounts in one household. If you have two players in your household, you can transfer into just one account so that you can have one member get all the awards instead of spliting it up.
- You know a Globalist: World of Hyatt Globalist members can share their elite benefits with friends and family by redeeming points to book Guest of Honor stays. If you know a Globalist member (me!), you can transfer points to their account. Then, have the Globalist member book what’s called a “Guest of Honor” award stay for you. I’ve made many Hyatt reservations for family using transferred points. When you have a guest of honor reservation, you receive the same perks as a Globalist (breakfast, lounges, no resort fees, free parking). This only works when paying in points, not cash.
- Your points might be expiring. If your account is inactive for 24 consecutive months, you can lose all of those points. Transfering counts as activity so your account is active.

How to earn World of Hyatt points
The best way to earn World of Hyatt is to transfer them from your Chase rewards account. You can transfer from Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve, or the Chase Ink business preferred at a 1:1 ratio. This is one of the primary uses of Chase points for us.
If you stay mostly at Hyatts, you could also consider opening a World of Hyatt Credit Card. (But maybe wait until they have a better offer than right now!) This card offers a sign-up bonus of 30,000 bonus points after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first three months. But you do get better points when paying for a Hyatt with cash, and a free night certificate each year at a Category 1-4 resort.

Using combined points at Disney
These Hyatts are our favorites for a Disney Vacation:
Walt Disney World
Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, Hyatt Regency Orlando, Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport (MCO)
The Hyatt Regency at the airport is also fantastic for cruises out of Port Canaveral, as Disney has transportation to and from the airport.
Disneyland
Hyatt Place Anaheim Resort, Hyatt House Anaheim Convention, Orange County Regency
