How to qualify for a business card

Many don’t realize that they qualify for a business card! My husband for example has 3 business cards and his business is selling all of our baby items on facebook marketplace. You don’t need to make a lot of money in your business to get approved. My husband recent application for an ink card had an income of $500 dollars for the year. Here is a great article to help you find out if you are eligible.

How to Maximize Ink Points (Transfer Cards)

With Chase Bank, you can earn Ultimate Rewards Points. In order to maximize these type of points, you need a card that allows you to transfer your points out to different hotel or airline partners.

To start travel on points, you will want either the Chase Business Preferred, Chase Sapphire Preferred, or Chase Sapphire Reserve. Right now the Chase Business Preferred has an elevated offer of 100,000 points! If you are new to traveling on points open either the Preferred Business Card of the Chase Sapphire Card. Both have a $95 dollar fee. The reserve is a higher end card.

Ink cards are great because 2 of them (the Unlimited and the Cash) you can move your points to one of these cards to the 3 I have described above. This makes the cards go from cash back cards, to worth a lot more!

Chase Business Ink Options

There are 3 different Business Ink Cards available that have 0 dollar annual fees. 2 of them

Chase Ink Cash– You get extra points for cell phone and internet, so make sure to set these up for payment using this card.

Chase Ink Unlimited – If you are familiar with the Capital One Venture Card, this card is a version for chase because you earn a flat rate of 1.5 points on every dollar you spend. This is great because you end up with more points at the end once you complete spending.

Cash back only (not one you can convert to points). DO NOT GET THIS CARD FIRST

Chase Ink Premier This would be my last choice of the three cards because you can’t move your points to be chase ultimate rewards points. You can only use the sign up bonus as cash.

How to use Ink Cards for Disney (or other travel)
  • If you plan to rent Disney Vacation Club you could not convert them and instead cash them out for $900 dollars. Renting DVC you are already saving 40-50% off of your room so cashing them out isn’t a terrible idea. We rent our points on our page.
  • I also think this is a good option for those wanting to go on a Disney cruise.
  • Another option is to use the points to buy tickets. You could buy tickets from where ever you wanted because you are just “cashing out” points. You aren’t converting them. That would give you $900+ in tickets.

If you have one of the 3 cards above, combine your points onto one of the three cards (aka move your ink points over to one of the three cards). Here are some ways you can get more than $900 dollars worth for Disney

  • You could transfer them to SW airlines which chase points are a standard 1.5 over on there site. This would give you $1350 in SW flights for free.
  • My favorite way is to transfer them to the free World of Hyatt Program. Chase (and BILT) are the only banks that have a partnership with them. Here is the breakdown of how I use them at Disneyland for example. Hyatt rooms by both Disneyland and WDW run around 12-18k points a night. This means opening 1 card gets you 5-7.5 nights for free!
  • Want to use them at a marriott?  use these instead!
  • Flying abroad to Tokyo DisneySea or Disney Paris? Chase points transfer to a lot of partner airlines. One of the options I am looking at for Europe next year is to transfer my points to flying blue (airfrance/klm). This is because my little girls are 25% the cost of an adult rewards ticket!

Our Favorite Hyatt’s at each park.

Referring

Make sure you are referring spouses, significant others, neighbors, friends, etc to the card. Every time you refer someone, you will receive 40,000 points! My husband and I will refer each other back and forth to these cards.
