Value Disney Vacation Club Resorts for Large groups

If you are going  on a Disney vacation with extended family or multiple families sharing the cost, then either a two or three bedroom at Disney Vacation Club property would be a perfect fit.  Maybe you don’t need the grand villa at the Riviera (It is spectacular though!), but a nice place to eat and sleep that is on Disney property.  These are our top choices for Value two and three bedroom at Disney Vacation Club resorts. Occupancy does not include an infant (under 3).

Studios that sleep five

How we save money by staying in a larger villa (two bedrooms or larger)

You might be doing the math and think that it’s more expensive to stay in a two bedroom vs. two studios, but we have found that by using grocery delivery we more than make up for the price increase.  We bring our own drinks and snacks into the parks, we make our own breakfast in our room.  Many buy easy dinner items like spaghetti, frozen pizzas, mac and cheese for kids instead of having to buy expensive meals at the parks.  Don’t forget to buy microwave popcorn and fill up your popcorn bucket with it to save too!

Here’s what company we use and what our typical order looks like!

Saratoga Springs

One of the largest resorts, it has more availability which is nice.  It’s also the only Disney Vacation Club on our list at this time that has been fully remodeled, including adding murphy beds instead of the dreaded sofa bed.  We stayed in a two bedroom here and it’s convenient for those who have a car, as the parking for each building is right outside. It’s also close to Disney Springs for shopping and more dining options.  Click here for our stay in a two bedroom.

Point range-2 bedroom standard villas range from 27-63 points per night depending on season and sleep 9 (plus an infant). Three bedroom, 63-127, and sleep 12.  For easy reference renting from us, a two bedroom in value season would be $580.50

Transportation- Buses.  There are multiple bus stops at the resort.

Bathrooms- Two bedroom has 2, grand villa has 4.

Animal Kingdom (Kidani)

We often stay here in a two bedroom.  Kidani is better than Jambo house, just for the fact that Kidani offers dedicated two bedrooms.  This means that the second bedroom has two queens instead of a connecting door to another studio (this layout will get you TWO of the sofa beds and that’s nobody’s first choice). Kidani also gets picked up and dropped off first on the buses. Another benefit is that the parking is under the resort, so cars are covered for rain and heat. Request a villa close to the lobby as the hall can be a hike at the end of a long park day.

Point range- standard two bedroom range is 28-60, grand villa (three bedroom) 68-135. Two bedrooms sleep 8 (9 if you have a small child that could sleep in the chair bed- it’s small), and the grand villa sleeps 12.

Transportation- Buses. There are two bus stops, one at Kidani and one at Jambo house.

Bathrooms- two bedroom has 3, grand villa has 4.

Old Key West

The original Disney Vacation Club resort, it has the largest of the value villas by square feet.  Like Saratoga, there are separate buildings so parking is nicer that a big parking lot.  Themed like the Key West, there is plenty of color and tropical feels.  We stayed in a three bedroom here, near the hospitality house and that was nice since the bus stop, restaurants and pool were super close.  We aren’t a fan of the studios at Old Key West, but loved the grand villa. If the resort converted to murphy beds (which might be hard with the layout?), this resort would be fantastic.

Point range- Two bedroom varies from 27-65 and sleeps 8 (again it technically sleeps 9 with a chair).  Grand villa sleeps 12 and ranges between 46-106- which is a steal!  This means you could sleep 12 people, with a kitchen and laundry for $989- split that a few ways!

Transportation options- buses. They have multiple bus stops at the resort.

Bathrooms- two bedroom has 2, grand villa has 3.

What is included in a two bedroom

Dedicated Two bedroom villas (not lock off) included one king bed, two queens and either a murphy bed or sofa bed.  Some include a trundle bed ( like Saratoga).

Each villas has a full kitchen with

  • a full size fridge/freezer
  • sink and dishwasher
  • stove and microwave
  • coffee maker (kind varies by resort)
  • toaster
  • they also have basics for cooking (pots, pans, cooking utensils)
  • silverware, plates, cups, bowls

Laundry will have a washer and dryer (most are stackable) with a packet of soap

Living area and Dining area, and multiple bathrooms.

What is included in a three bedroom

Grand Villas have three bedrooms.  One king(main bedroom), 4 queens (bedroom 2 and 3), and usually a sofa bed (but again points to Saratoga for ditching that and going to Murphy beds).

Full kitchen will include everything that is in a two bedroom has, but will just be bigger, more seating, and larger dining table, and of course laundry.

Grand Villas are two floors and most have two entrances (one for each floor) to make it easier, especially those with mobility issues.

I’m ready to book!
