Watching Disney World Fireworks from your Resort
We had such a fun, relaxing time watching the Fireworks from our resort last trip. No waiting for an hour to stake our spot, and no crowds after the show- it was a great end to the night! Here are all the places you can watch fireworks at Walt Disney World from your resort so you can “OH and AHHH” to the the show and sing along with the soundtrack too!
Magic Kingdom Fireworks
Grand Floridian

We had a great experience when staying here and watching the fireworks. The viewing area is the dock area by Gasparilla Grill. Music is synced and you have a partial view of the castle. Cast members were awesome cheering and give guests high fives with their giant mickey hands after the show!
If you have a special occasion you can also make a reservation close to the firework time at Narcoossee’s signature restaurant.
OUr tips for a smooth split stay
Polynesian

Grab a dole whip at Pineapple Lanai and head to one of the two viewing areas. Did you get that? Anything better than sitting by the beach, eating a dole whip and watching Happily Ever After? Nope? I didn’t think so! First area is the beach by the pool and the second is by the dock. Both have synced music and great views.
You can also book a reservation at ‘Ohana and have a fun family style meal and they do pump in the firework music. The only problem is that tables with a view are VERY limited so don’t expect a view even if you have a time during the fireworks. They do dim the lights in the restaurant and play the soundtrack which is awesome.

Contemporary

Good and close views from the Contemporary although the angles can be a little “off”, and the view also includes a view of the not so picturesque parking lot in front of the resort. Head to the Fourth floor observation deck, or if you own Disney Vacation Club, head to Bay Lake to the Villains Lounge for great views. California Grill is located on the 14th floor and has great view if you want a very nice dinner.
Epcot
Boardwalk/Beach Club
Although there isn’t a place AT these resorts, it’s a short walk to the bridge close to the international gateway entrance. You won’t get the full effect of the water show, but you can hear the music soundtrack and watch the fireworks in the sky.
Swan Reserve

If you are staying at the swan reserve (click here for our review) you can head up to the rooftop lounge to view fireworks of both Magic Kingdom and Epcot. No music and fireworks are pretty far away, so not super impressive but a nice place to relax. Instead, we were upgraded with Marriott status and got a park view room. We watched the fireworks using our own synced music- your friend, youtube! (click here for Epcot Forever)
restaurants that have firework viewing
- California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary
- Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian
- Toledo at Disney’s Coronado Springs
- Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort– Highly recommend!
- Stir Lounge at Swan Reserve (some EPCOT views)
Resorts that offer Theme Park View rooms for Fireworks
- Grand Floridian
- Polynesian
- Bay Lake/Contemporary (just know it’s also a view of a parking lot)
- Swan/Dolphin/Swan Reserve
Except for the Marriott Hotels (Swan, etc.) if you are staying in a theme park room, you can tune into the firework music on your room TV. Order a pizza, put on your PJ’s and relax while you watch from the comfort of your own room! That’s best way to watch Disney World Fireworks from your resort!
