Favorite Hyatt Hotels for Each Disney Park
Disneyland
Our Favorite is: Hyatt House at Anaheim Resort and Convention Center
Point Cost per night:12-18k points a night
Why it’s our Favorite: We stayed and reviewed this hotel recently on our trip to Disneyland. We love how close of a walk it is (only 8 minutes or so). The rooms were comfortable and spacious. It also comes with free breakfast which is a big deal when you are trying to save $$ on Disney vacations.
Runner up: Hyatt Place at Anaheim Resort and Convention Center. This hotel is a little farther away of a walk but is a good backup to hyatt house. It also has free breakfast.
Our personal credit card plan for Disneyland
Walt Disney World
Our favorite is: Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress
Point Cost per night: 12-18k points a night
Why it’s our favorite: There are multiple reasons this is our favorite hyatt near WDW. The first is the location. If we aren’t staying on property, we enjoy staying in the Disney Springs area. To be honest though- Hyatt isn’t where its at at Disney World. If you want to use your chase sapphire points I would look at the swan, dolphin, or reserve through Marriott, cashing out the points for DVC renting, booking an on-property hotel through the chase portal or using the points for flights/different vacation option. The transportation at the hyatt cypress is not great, it takes a minute to get anywhere, and cost add up compared to the on-property options. Here is our comparison between Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress and Regency Orlando.
Honorable Mention: The Hyatt we actually use the most for WDW is the Hyatt inside of the airport called Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport. We use this hotel to bookend our trips to WDW. We will fly in, stay the night at the airport hotel and then head to our DVC resort in the morning. We then will drop off our bags at bell service and head straight to the park. We then will on our last day stay until the end of fireworks, go back to our DVC on property hotel, grab our bags at bell service (we drop them off before we checkout), and then take an uber to the airport.
The morning of our flight, my husband will head down to check in any bags while my kids get some extra sleep before a long flight.
Our favorite Disney Vacation Club resorts
Disney Tokyo
Our choice is: Hyatt Regency Tokyo Bay
Point Cost per night: 12-18k per night
Why we like this hotel: It offers a free shuttle to Disney Tokyo as well as rooms that accommodate families. The hotel also has good reviews. It is a bit away from the park though.
What we would do instead: I would stay on property for the 2-3 nights at Tokyo Disneyland. Our plan is to stay at the Toy Story Hotel when we go in a year. I would actually stay at Hyatt’s when visiting the other parts of Tokyo. Keep in mind room occupancy restrictions for families.
How to combine Hyatt points into one account
Disney Aulani
Where would I stay: Hyatt Place Waikiki
Why would I stay here: This hotel offers free breakfast, is a block or two from the beach in Waikiki. Waikiki has 3 Hyatt hotels that you can stay at and is roughly 20 minutes from the airport (sometimes more with traffic).
What would I do instead: I would actually island hop if I was planning on an extended trip to the Hawaiian islands. I would stay at the Grand Hyatt Kauai or the Hyatt Regency Maui. Oahu is more developed than the other islands. We prefer the quiet aspects of the other two.. but love to spend 4 nights at Aulani because of the pool, ambiance, and the beach.
Disneyland Paris
Disneyland Paris isn’t really located in the city of Paris. It is actually located on the out skirts of Paris and will take you around a 40 minute train ride (it is 45KM from city center). There aren’t any Hyatt’s in that area. However, when we plan to go to paris we are thinking we will stay at the Hyatt Regency Paris Elloite and just take the metro everywhere! It runs 12-18k points a night. Something once again to keep in mind is that Europe has strict occupancy rates. For many families, it might be cheaper for you to book an airbnb instead of 2 rooms and cash out your credit card points.
Where I would Stay: Hyatt Regency Paris Elloite
Cost Per Night: 12-18K a night
What I would do instead: I would cash out my points and stay at an Airbnb/Vrbo in much of Europe if I am traveling with kids. Many hotels will only have an occupancy of 2 in each room.
Disneyland Hong Kong
There are not many Hyatts near Disneyland Hong Kong. I would stay at a different chain altogether if I am being honest. I have heard good things about the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong but it would be a ways away from what I can gather on the map (I haven’t been to hong kong yet).
Disney Shanghai
There are a lot of Hyatts in the city center of Shanghai. Keep in mind Disney Shanghai isn’t huge. I think if I were planning a trip there, I would look at the new hotel URcove Shanghai East. It is around 5 miles from the park. There are plenty of options around the city. You might have to take public transportation to get around.
