Wanting to know the timing of opening cards and what cards I suggest? Opening these cards would get you $6,775 amount of travel towards a Disney World Vacation.

I am going to assume a couple of things about your family:

• That you have 2 adults in their house
• That you don’t own a business. Read here what counts as a business for business cards. Business cards unlock a lot of options when it comes to travel and points and miles!

They only want to open a card every 90 days. Keep in mind each adult can open every 90 days. So you could stagger opening. However, some don’t spend enough per month to do that so I will stick with the 90 day timeframe.

 

 

Credit Card Opening Plan 

Person 1 Jan 1st– Open a Venture Card. I usually suggest this one to open first because they are the most strict I feel like with applications. (75,000 capital one miles)

Person 2 March 1st- Refer spouse/other adults to Venture card (75,000+ 25,000 miles for referring)

Person 1 May 1st- Opens a Chase Sapphire Card (60,000 points)

Person 2 July 1st– Opens a Chase Sapphire Card (60,000 +15,000 for referring)

Person 1 September 1st– Opens a Marriott Bonvoy Boundless (open it when its elevated to 5 free nights so move this around depending on that time frame). If not at least when you get 3, 50k certificates. I will just for guessing purposes say the rooms run around $300 a night.

Person 2- December-  Opens a Marriott Bonvoy boundless (open it when its still elevated.. usually not a refer with the higher offer but double check!)

and thats it! Remember to move these around when offers are better (banks elevate offer to be more points throughout the year)

** if you have more spending you can add more cards. Each member of your household can open a card every 90 days. We usually stagger ours so we are opening a card every 45 days.

What does this get this family towards a disney vacation?

135,000 chase points to use for flights minimum. You can also use these points to stay at the hotel the night before or after your flight at the airport (transfer to hyatt). I would fly southwest which makes this roughly 1.3 a point. Making those points worth 2,025 dollars. You could also do a more complicated transfer to british airways or book in the travel portal for example.

10 Marriott 50k Certificates- This will allow you 10 nights on property to stay at WDW’s swan, dolphin, or reserve off season. You can top off these certificated with points you earned from the cards (up to 15,000 points for rooms that cost 65,000 points a night). Sometimes you have to be willing to switch properties (swan, dolphin, and reserve are all separate properties) and/or stay off season.

Venture miles to use towards tickets (roughly 175,000 points if the card offers 75,000 points + a referral). That is worth 1,750 dollars in tickets.
