Why We Love Copper Creek Villas
Secluded, stunning, and steps from Magic Kingdom — Copper Creek Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is one of the most beautiful and immersive resorts on all of Disney property.
The Wilderness Lodge is themed after the grand National Park lodges of the American West — think massive log exterior, soaring timber ceilings, and a fireplace so large it genuinely stops you in your tracks the first time you see it. To say the lobby is grand would be a huge understatement. It’s secluded and quiet, yet also just a short boat ride from Magic Kingdom, making it a fantastic resort for all ages.
We love that the Copper Creek Villas are right off the main lobby (unless you splurge for a cabin!). You’re always close to food, entertainment, and transportation. During the holiday season, this resort truly shines — the gingerbread cabin display and the decorated grand fireplace make it one of the most magical places to be at Christmas time. The Geyser pool is also a fantastic choice for a resort day, with one of the most unique pool slides on property.

Room View Categories
Copper Creek Villas offers two distinct accommodation categories — standard villas in the main lodge building, and the coveted stand-alone Cabins along Bay Lake.
The view and location you choose will shape how your resort days feel. Standard villas in the main building put you steps from the lobby, restaurants, and pool. The Cabins are their own magical world — perched right on Bay Lake with stunning natural views — but there are some practical trade-offs worth knowing before you book.
Located in the main Wilderness Lodge building, right off the grand lobby. Views of the parking areas or the pool depending on your specific room. The best value option and most convenient for accessing all resort amenities.
Stand-alone cabins situated right along the shoreline of Bay Lake with views of the water and wilderness. Stunning setting and very private — but located away from the main lodge, so plan extra time to access the lobby, pool, and dining.
Even though the cabins are absolutely gorgeous, the sleeping layout can be awkward for larger groups — especially with the mix of king, queen, twin trundle, and sleeper chair. If you’re traveling with a group of 6–8, consider renting a Two Bedroom Villa in the main building instead for a more comfortable sleep setup.
Room Sizes & Floor Plans
From a cozy Deluxe Studio to an expansive Grand Villa, Copper Creek has a room size for every group — all with the kitchen amenities and space that make DVC rentals so worthwhile.
One of the biggest advantages of renting DVC at Copper Creek is the space. Studios have a kitchenette, and one-bedroom and larger villas come with full kitchens, in-unit washers and dryers, and separate living areas. The Grand Villa is one of the most impressive on Disney property at 3,200 square feet.

Stand-alone cabins along Bay Lake — stunning views and privacy, but a longer walk to the main lodge, pool, and dining. Sleeping layout can be awkward for groups of 6+.
Kitchens include: sink, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, microwave, coffee maker, toaster. Plates, cups, silverware, frying pan, sauce pan, and cooking utensils. Also stocked with one roll of paper towels, one dishwasher tablet, travel-size dishwashing soap, and a sponge.
Make use of that full kitchen! With a car or a Lyft, you can easily run to a local grocery store like Publix or Target to stock up on breakfast items, snacks, and drinks. It’s one of the best money-saving moves you can make on a Disney trip.
Restaurants, Bars & Quick Service
Between two standout table-service restaurants and a beloved pool bar with one of the best burgers at Walt Disney World — Copper Creek has some genuinely great on-site dining.
The two headliners are Storybook Dining at Artist’s Point and Whispering Canyon Cafe — both inside the Wilderness Lodge and both worth booking well in advance. For a more casual bite, Roaring Fork and Geyser Point are always reliable options.
A magical character dinner with Snow White and friends — including the very entertaining Evil Queen. The theming is absolutely stunning inside the former Artist’s Point fine dining space. One of the best character dining experiences on property. Book as early as you can at the 60-day window.
Famous for their skillets and their playful, rowdy atmosphere. Tradition says you must ask for ketchup — the servers will put on quite the show in response. A genuinely fun dining experience that the whole family will talk about. Great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Quick Service & Other Options
Even when you don’t want a full sit-down experience, Copper Creek and the surrounding resort area have great casual options right on-site.
- Roaring Fork — The main quick service location at Wilderness Lodge. Great for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts. Accepts mobile orders through the My Disney Experience app.
- Geyser Point Bar & Grill — Widely considered one of the best burgers at all of Walt Disney World. Cocktails, craft beer, and a beautiful outdoor setting right next to the pool and Bay Lake. Don’t skip it.
- Mercantile — Ice cream, cookies, snacks, and other necessities. Perfect for stocking up before heading to the parks or grabbing something sweet after a pool day.
- Territory Lounge — A cozy bar off the lobby with cocktails, wine, and light bites. Great spot for adults to unwind after the parks close.
As a DVC / deluxe resort guest, you can make all your dining reservations 60 days before check-in. Book Storybook Dining first — it fills up incredibly fast. Whispering Canyon is easier to get but still worth booking early, especially for holiday visits.
Activity Highlights & Getting Around
Between the legendary Geyser pool, evening campfires, a movie under the stars every night, and a scenic boat ride to Magic Kingdom — there’s always something happening at Copper Creek.
Geyser Pool — The Main Pool
The main pool at Copper Creek is the Geyser Pool, named for the resort’s Fire Rock Geyser just nearby. It features a fantastic rock-themed water slide, a dedicated kids’ splash zone, and hot tubs. There is also a second, quieter pool in the Boulder Ridge area of the resort for a more relaxed swim. The main pool is a great resort day destination — don’t miss Leaping Horse Libations right next door for poolside drinks.
Movie Under the Stars
Each night, Copper Creek Villas shows a Disney movie under the stars on the Reunion Station grass area near the resort. Times vary by season — check the My Disney Experience app under “My Resort” for the current schedule.
Campfire & S’mores
Located near the Geyser Point Bar & Grill, you can roast marshmallows seven days a week. S’mores kits are available for an additional fee. Times vary — check the My Disney Experience app under “My Resort” for current times. A perfect way to end an evening before the movie starts.
Explore the Resort
Don’t underestimate just how incredible this resort is to simply walk around. The Wilderness Lodge lobby alone is worth an extended visit — rocking chairs, the grand fireplace, Native American-inspired art and theming throughout. The resort grounds wind along Bay Lake and are beautiful at every time of day. Give yourself time to just be here.
Transportation — Boat to Magic Kingdom
A boat launch right on the resort connects directly to Magic Kingdom across Bay Lake. It’s a scenic, relaxing ride — one of the best ways to arrive at any park at Disney World. Allow 20–25 minutes from resort to the park gate to be safe, as boats can fill up during peak morning hours.
Transportation — Bus to All Other Parks
EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom are all served by Disney buses from the resort’s main bus stop. Disney Springs can also be reached by bus. Buses typically begin running about an hour before the parks open each morning.
For Magic Kingdom rope drop, take the boat — but plan to be at the boat dock at least 25–30 minutes before you want to arrive at the park. Morning boats fill up quickly. The boat ride itself is relaxing and sets a wonderful tone for the day.
