Best Hotel for a Cruise from Puerto Rico

We found the best hotel for a cruise from Puerto Rico! We always recommend flying in a day early for a cruise in case of delayed flights and so you can get on earlier and not be stressed. So when we flew in for our 7 night Southern Caribbean Disney Cruise and would definitely stay here again!

Hyatt House and Hyatt place San Juan location

These two hotels are just across the street from each other are the perfect choice for your stay before your fun cruise. Close to the airport, close to old San Juan, and most importantly, close to the cruise port (it’s less than 1/2 mile away, if only there was sidewalks!). So close that we could see our ship from our bay view room the morning before we embarked. There are also numerous restaurants and a mall across the street to catch dinner close. We chose Hyatt house for our stay.

Cash price Vs. Points

We used a Hyatt free night certificate from our Chase World of Hyatt credit card for one of the rooms, and Hyatt points transferred from this Chase credit card for the second room. Rooms start at 9k for off peak to 15k for peak nights, with our room being 12K points for the night. The cash rate was $240 if we had paid cash instead of using World of Hyatt points.

Rooms

Rooms are your typical Hyatt house fare with standard studios rooms and also suites with a kitchen. Our rooms were new, clean and larger than I thought they would be. We were upgraded to a room with a view of the bay with our Hyatt status, and it was a spectacular to wake up to a view of our Disney Cruise ship.
